3-2-1…BLAST OFF! Be an astronaut or alien, fly a spaceship, visit planets, stars, and meteors as we use our imaginations to explore everything about outer space. Each class is a new adventure for students as we have fun with dramatic play, story enactment, imagination journeys, visual arts, music, and movement. Think of it as a little bit of acting, a little bit of singing, a little bit of dancing, and a whole lot of fun. Adults come along for the fun in the 2 – 3 year old class.
Center Stage: Julia Donaldson
Ages 6 – 8 yr Mondays 4:30 – 5:30 $80
Ages 6 – 8 yr Saturdays 9:30 – 10:30 $72
Develop skills in acting as we explore the creative world of Julia Donaldson’s award-winning books such as The Gruffalo, Room on a Broom and The Snail and the Whale. Students will use theatre games and exercises to explore the basics of acting while learning ensemble-building skills and gaining self-confidence. Each day we’ll go on a grand adventure using Ms. Donaldson’s books as a springboard and expand our ability to tell a story using the tools of every actor: our voice, body and imagination. Students will perform a play for family and friends on the last day of class.
Make A Scene
Ages 9 – 11 yr Mondays 5:45 – 6:45 $80
This fun format introduces students to warm-ups, stage direction, theater etiquette, character analysis, scene work, and more while learning ensemble-building skills and gaining self-confidence. Discover how to use your body and voice to create a convincing character, improve your ability to communicate emotions on stage and work together to tell a story. Students will work as an ensemble to perform a scene from a play.
Ages 6 – 8 yr Tuesdays 4:30 – 5:30 $80
Ages 9 – 11 yr Tuesdays 5:45 – 6:45 $80
This class introduces vocal technique, movement and acting skills through some of Broadway’s popular shows. Working on songs from some of Broadway’s best musicals will build the confidence and skill of young performers. Students will put their singing, dancing and acting skills together to present a Broadway performance for family and friends on the last day of class. Explore the magic of musical theatre!
