SUNSET PLAYHOUSE AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS
Sunset Playhouse is pleased to award its 2007 Alan Furlan Scholarships to two worthy recipients, Ken Williams and Dustin Donohoe. Established in 1982, the fund was named in honor of Sunset’s longtime artistic director to provide financial assistance to its members and volunteers, reward dedication to the playhouse, and encourage further training in artistic and technical areas of theatre.
Ken, a native of Greenfield, will be studying Theatre Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Peck School for the Arts. His acting credits include work with many area theatre companies and his post-graduation plans are to act, teach, and direct.
Dustin, who grew up in Wauwatosa, will be studying Technical Theatre and Photography at UWM. He credits his mother, a lighting designer, for introducing him to the world of theatre. Special effects and rigging have become his passion and his dream job would be to work with the renowned Cirque du Soleil.
Sunset, located at 800 Elm Grove Road, welcomes new members and volunteers, and continues to accept donations to its scholarship fund. The theatre offers internships in all departments and its School for the Arts offers classes year-round. For more details, visit sunsetplayhouse.com or call (262) 782-4430.
