ANNIE has finally arrived! This Playhouse premiere is bound to be a musical celebration for the ages as it arrives for a holiday treat. Orphaned Annie has a dream to find her real parents someday, and she won’t let that nasty Miss Hannigan get in her way. Join this plucky redhead, her orphan pals, best friend Sandy and Daddy Warbucks on a musical fun-fest for the entire family!
We have two casts of Young Performers for our production of ANNIE: CLICK HERE to view a PDF of when each cast will be performing.
"Annie"
Great Show! I didn't know anyone in the cast. I thought the kids/dog on the 2pm Sunday 12/18 performance were terrific! They acted like kids versus professionals, and that suited the play perfectly. Miss Hannigan was GREAT!! I truly think an all-adult audience would have given her - and possibly the entire cast - a standing ovation. Dexter was "just right" in both of his roles! Warbucks and his Secretary were very good also. Sunset also managed the difficult part of keeping the volume of music down to the volume of the voices/action. Thank you for another enjoyable experience.
Annie
Great show and a strong cast for community theater. Sets, set changes, choreography all great. Annie's clothes weren't as strong as the rest, but I understand budget restraints. When Rooster flashed the switchblade and indicated he'd kill Annie, an older lady behind me said, "I don't even want to think of that these days". I have to agree. We used to be able to tell ourselves times were different back then, but there I so much violence toward women and children these days. Perhaps it could be changed to "you leave that to me," and nothing more. Hopefully when you do the play in another 52 years times will be better. Congratulations. I look forward to Wed., when I see it again. And I hope Santa does bring you a parking lot!
Annie/horrible seating
This was my first visit to Sunset Playhouse. The show itself was very enjoyable and the actors were good. I brought my 2 grandchildren, ages 6 and 7, although they enjoyed the show, they had a horrible time actually trying to see the show. I also had to constantly move my head to see the show. The person next to me also complained about the same thing. There were also a lot of children at the show and I didn't like a certain part of the dialogue. We will not be returning to Sunset Playhouse. The Todd Wehr Theater is where we will continue to watch children's plays. The seating is great. The price is better too!
Annie
We were thrilled with the show. It was absolutely a wonderful experience for us. We did not know any of the characters personally in the show and thought they all did a terrific job. We have highly recommended it to our friends.
ANNIE
We enjoyed an announcer coming out and giving the announcements instead of a recording. It's much more personal. The play itself was very well done. The actors/actress's did a fabulous job, especially Annie, Mr. Warbucks, the musicians, and the axillary players. They had so many parts and did well at them all. Good work
Annie
I took my 3 year old granddaughter to see Annie and we both really enjoyed it. I wasn't sure if she would sit still through the whole show(as she has never been to anything like this before)but she sat at the edge of her seat, totally engrossed and singing right along with the performers. It was a pleasure to see the look of pure joy on my granddaughters face. I would like to thank the talented performers who put that look on her face and mine. I would highly recommend seeing this show.
