The Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove announces auditions for the ninth season of its professional Musical MainStage Concert series. Auditions will take place from 9:00 to 3:00 on Saturday, April 12th at Sunset Playhouse.

The loons are back again on Golden Pond and so are Norman and Ethel Thayer, a couple in the twilight years of their marriage. Daughter Chelsea, whom they have not seen for years and whose relationship with her father is stormy, is about to arrive for Norman's birhtday, along with her fiance and his 13 year old son. Chelsea has decided to leave Billy in her parents' care while she and her fiance visit Europe. Norman and Billy become great friends, leading Chelsea to attempt a better relationship with her father.CAST OF CHARACTERS

Those interested in auditioning should plan on attending Monday or Wednesday for the vocal audition as well as callbacks on Thursday.
Please prepare a 32-bar cut of a song in the style of the show, but not from the show specifically. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided.

All have played the brassy, bossy Mama Rose in New York productions of GYPSY.
Loosely based on the memoirs of striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee, this musical focuses on Rose, the driving force behind her daughters. When Rose pushes the teenage Louise into service as a last minute replacement for a second class club's lead stripper, Louise discovers her way to fortune and fame, eventually becoming Gypsy Rose Lee and one of Minsky's biggest stars.CAST OF CHARACTERS
