We have auditions for all performances at The Playhouse, and anyone is welcome to come out and show us what they’ve got!

Scripts can be checked out at the box office Tuesday-Friday (1-5 pm) and Saturday (1-4 pm) with a $10 deposit. No guarantee of availability.

GUYS & DOLLS

Based on a Story and Characters of Damon Runyon
Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser
Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows

GUYS & DOLLS will be directed by Diana Alioto. Please come to Sunset Playhouse on one of the dates listed. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Bring comfortable clothes for the dance audition, as well.  Auditions may also consist of readings from the script. Scripts are available to check out.

SYNOPSIS
This popular Broadway musical introduces us to a cast of vivid characters- from a "mission doll" to a high-rolling gambler. The show is packed with unforgettable songs such as "Luck Be A Lady," "Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat," and "Bushel and a Peck." Set in 1920's New York, this oddball romantic comedy features a variety of ensemble and star roles.

CAST OF CHARACTERS

Sky Masterson: M, 35-45 yrs old, Range: B3-E5. A high-stakes gambler whose luck never seems to run out. Suave, smart, handsome.

Nathan Detroit: M, 35-45 yrs old, Range: D4-F5. A good-hearted gambler and craps game organizer who could never hit the big time. He loves Adelaide, but cannot quit his gambling ways.

Sarah Brown: F, 20-30 yrs old, Range: B3-G5. A pretty, bright-eyed woman who serves as Sergeant of the local Mission.

Miss Adelaide: F, 25-35 yrs old, Range: A3-E5. A pretty outspoken dancer at the Hot Box Club. Nathan's fiance who wants to get married.

Nicely-Nicely Johnson: M, 30-45 yrs old, Range: D4-B5. High-spirited and a bit naïve, but sincere and genuine. Nathan's loyal friend and lackey.

Benny Southstreet: M, 30-45 yrs old, Range: D4-G5. Nathan's right-hand man and a gambler himself.

Big Jule: M, 30-50 yrs old, Range: F3-G5. BIG JULE A big time craps player who bullies his way into never losing. Tough looking. A bit of an oaf.

Harry the Horse: M, 35-55 yrs old, Range: F3-G5. A crook and gambler. He is a tough guy with dollar signs as his bottom line.

Arvide Abernathy: M, 50-65 yrs old, Range: D4-F5. The bass drum and cymbal player in the Mission band, Sarah's grandfather.

Lt. Brannigan: M, 40-55 yrs old, Speaking Role. A New York police officer who is on to Nathan's illegal craps games. A tough, no-nonsense character.

Ensemble: Sightseers, Mission Band (Agatha, Calvin, Martha), Crap Shooters (Liver Lips Louie, Angie the Ox, Rusty Charlie), Hot Box Girls, Waiters, Cuban Dancers.

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET

Adapted by Mountain Community Theater from the novel by Valentine Davies 
Based upon the Twentieth Century Fox motion picture Miracle on 34th Street

Performances: December 4 - December 31, 2014
