Are students in Sunset Playhouse School for The Arts classes expected to have lots of theater experience?
No, indeed. The Sunset Playhouse offers a wide variety of performing arts classes for all ages and all interest levels taught by the area’s top professional teaching artists. Your only requirement is an openness to learning and having fun!
When are Sunset Playhouse School for The Arts classes held?
We have three class sessions throughout the year for children ages 2 – 15: fall, winter and summer. Our fall session includes a Junior Musical opportunity for students enrolled in grades 3 – 10. High School Students can join our year-long ACTLETES program and participate in all aspects of the performing arts. And don’t miss our fantastic and fun summer camps! We can also provide classes and workshops at your school, community group, or other off-site location throughout the year.
Where are your classes held?
All our classes take place at our beautiful theater facility in the heart of Elm Grove at 800 Elm Grove Road (it’s also proudly called
‘Honorary Sunset Playhouse Way’, which we’re tickled about). We provide a safe, fun environment for learning that is intended to give participants firsthand knowledge of the nuts and bolts of theater arts and a foundation for a lifelong appreciation of the arts.
How do I register for classes?
You can register in several ways:
+complete an online registration form at the bottom of each session page

+ call our Education Director Erika Navin at 262-782-4431 x290

Is there a class minimum?
Yes. In order to keep our class price at a minimum, we require at least six students be enrolled in a course. So tell your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers about The Sunset!
What can my family expect from a Sunset Playhouse School for The Arts experience?
Respect, cooperation and commitment are the foundations for the experience we cherish at The Sunset Playhouse. We nurture self-confidence, encourage collaboration, and value each student who participates in our programs as a unique individual. Did we also mention that we like to laugh? Because we do!
Potawatomi Hotel & Casino’s Heart of Canal Street program is the primary sponsor of The Sunset Playhouse School for the Arts.
Anything else I should know?
The Sunset Playhouse School for The Arts also produces a winning Children’s Theater series called bug in a rug, an interactive theater experience for the whole family targeted for children ages 2-8, (younger siblings are welcome, too).
